Residents should follow State Order wherever it is stricter than the County Order
Santa Clara County, CA – On Saturday, July 4, the County’s application for a variance was not approved by the State, but the County is in continued conversations with the California Department of Public Health regarding its application. As more information becomes available, the County will share that information with the public and the press. The County Health Order requires that all residents follow the State Order wherever it is stricter, and we continue to urge all residents to follow both orders.
Information on the State Order is available at covid19.ca.gov. We are aware of enforcement activities by State Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents in south Santa Clara County on Friday evening. The County did not receive any advance notice of this action and cannot speak on behalf of the State. We refer inquiries regarding the State’s enforcement activities to ABC or the Governor’s Office.
