Dear Neighbors,
We are happy to report continued progress in vaccinations across Santa Clara County. We encourage anyone interested to explore the data featured on our vaccine dashboard, where we provide daily updates in vaccinations.
Additionally, our Bay Area Health Officers have united to urge schools to fully open in Fall 2021. Public health leaders and school officials agree: the science is now clear that there are safe ways for our students to return to the classroom.
We are also excited to announce that the County's Behavioral Health Services Department will be significantly expanding community-based mental health and crisis response services through the new Community Mobile Response (CMR) Program.
The CMR program will help individuals experiencing a mental health event or crisis and work in close partnership with other teams and programs, such as the County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the existing Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT), and the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).
The program will be operational 24/7, 365 days a year, and will be launched on January 1, 2022 in three general areas: San Jose, Gilroy, and North County. For more information on current behavioral health services, please visit bhsd.sccgov.org.
Together in health,
County of Santa Clara
