This dashboard provides the total daily testing for COVID-19 in Santa Clara County. We monitor testing to ensure sufficient access to testing to help identify and slow the spread of COVID-19. The test turnaround time highlighted in the top banner is the current average number of days between a specimen being collected for testing and the result of that test at the lab. This is a good estimate for how long someone should expect to wait before they know the results of their test.
This dashboard is updated Monday-Friday and will not be updated on holidays.

Data Notes: A test represents at least one specimen tested per person per day. Some people will have multiple specimens collected and tested during the same visit but are only counted once per day. If a person is tested multiple times on different days then he or she will be counted for each day he or she was tested. The test positivity rate is the percent of positive tests out of total tests performed. The 7-day average positivity rate represents the most recent daily positivity rate averaged over the prior seven days. The test positivity rate highlighted in the top banner of the dashboard has a 7-day lag, because data for the last 7 days are preliminary and will likely change as additional results are received. The 7-day rolling average of specimen collection to result is the average number of days between a specimen being collected for testing and the result of that test at the lab.
